“That the Chief Executive provides a report on the current upkeep, by the Operations Department, of the New Street area under the following headings:

- Cleansing and litter management
- Repair and replacement of café barriers
- Removal of disused café barriers
- Enforcement of illegal parking in the pedestrianised area
- Maintenance and upkeep of planters
- Reinstatement of removed umbrellas.”

The motion, in the name of Councillor E. O’Brien was proposed by Councillor E. O’Brien and seconded by Councillor C. Haughey.

The report was read into the record by Niamh Russell, Administrative Officer.

Following discussion, Niamh Russell agreed to organise a meeting with Fingal County Council, Malahide Tidy Towns, and the businesses on New Street. The umbrellas were taken down during the storm for health and safety purposes will be returned to the businesses.
