“That the Chief Executive writes to the Office of Public Works (OPW) requesting that a detailed Coastal Erosion Assessment and Feasibility Study be undertaken along the coastline adjacent to Rush Golf Club, either directly by the OPW or through funding provided to the Council for this purpose, the study should assess the extent of coastal erosion since the previous assessment undertaken in 2019, evaluate the current and future risks posed to the coastline and identify potential mitigation, protection and adaptation measures that may be required, given the increasing frequency and severity of winter storm events, a proactive approach is required to better understand the scale of erosion occurring and to consider appropriate interventions before further land loss takes place.”
