“That this Area Committee is increasingly concerned over the safety on Portmarnock beach due to equestrian activity on the beach and ask the Chief Executive to report on what beach Bye Laws apply and how they can be enforced.”

It was proposed by Councillor B. McDonagh and seconded by Councillor A. Lavin.

The following report which had been circulated was taken as read.

Mr. Stephen Peppard, Senior Executive Officer thanked the Members for their input and outlined the situation with the Bye-Laws.  He advised that use intensified in line with other events in the Trotting Track and informed the Members that on-going engagement with the Gardai is required.
