Councillor D. Healy - Response to Dublin City Council consultation on Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Route. AI033840

Meeting: 01/02/2017 - Howth/Malahide Area Committee (Services A - Operational Matters) (Item 34)

Councillor D. Healy - Response to Dublin City Council consultation on Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Route. AI033840

“That, in light of the importance for this route for access to Dublin City Centre from the Howth/Malahide Area, this Area Committee recommends that Fingal County Council responds to the public consultation by Dublin City Council in relation to the Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Route as follows:

We recommend the provision of a safe and fully segregated two-way cycle path between the existing coastal path at Clontarf and the city centre via Fairview and North Strand as originally proposed, rather than the non-continuous cycle paths which mix cycling with buses, heavy traffic and pedestrians as proposed in the design which has been put on display.
