“Given the need for Fingal Coastal Communities, particularly from Skerries and Balbriggan, and the Sustainable Windfarm Environmental Group (SWEG), to engage directly with inspectors and decision-makers in An Coimisiún Pleanála in relation to the current elevated rate of porpoise deaths, the importance of Rockabill’s Seabird Breeding Colony, the sensitive nature of the Fingal coastline and seascape, and the case for locating the proposed windfarm further out to sea, that the Chief Executive writes to An Coimisiún Pleanála on behalf of this Area Committee requesting an oral hearing in advance of any decision in relation to the North Irish Sea Array Windfarm.”
