“That this Area Committee write to the NTA and Iarnród Éireann
a) in relation to the DART timetable, to request that they increase the frequency and capacity of trains at weekends to address the situation experienced in the summer months at coastal stations in the Howth/Malahide Area, i.e. long waits for trains, overcrowded station platforms and overcrowded trains,
b) in relation to weekend closures of the rail line for work, to request that these are not during spring and summer,

c) in relation to any planned closures of the rail line, to ensure that adequate capacity is provided on the buses for the unserved passenger demand, and
d) to invite them to meet with this Committee, and, either jointly or separately, with Explore Howth who have also been in touch with them.”

The Motion, in the name of Councillor D. Healy,  was proposed by Councillor D. Healy and seconded by Councillor C. Haughey.

The report by the Chief Executive, which had been circulated, was CONSIDERED. 

Following discussion, the Motion was AGREED.
