"To ask the Chief Executive if consideration can be given to having the junction at the Park Road, Tesco and Knightsgate Avenue, Rush evaluated for the installation of traffic calming measures in the next Programme of Works, residents’ report that:

·       traffic coming from Tesco are not heeding the traffic lights and are speeding across the junction, this is hazardous for residents.

·       traffic approaching the traffic lights from Kenure towards Tesco speed up once they pass the speed bumps after Kenure Park, further ramps would be appreciated.

·       lorries/HGVs travelling on Park Road towards Tesco are increasingly using the outside lane to turn left towards Main Street, the left inside lane is too narrow for turning, this is dangerous and very disconcerting for other road users and pedestrians?”

“To ask the Chief Executive if consideration can be given to having the North Beach in Rush evaluated for the installation of a shelter and changing area for sea swimmers and beach users using the beach similar to the facility recently installed in Balbriggan (see attached photo), alternatively should this not be possible, could such a facility be incorporated into the upgrading of toilet facilities at Rush North beach?”

“That the Chief Executive deliver universal access to Balbriggan Beach as soon as possible to ensure that all members of the community, including those with disabilities, older adults, families with young children and individuals with temporary mobility issues can enjoy the natural environment, beaches are public spaces that should be accessible to everyone regardless of their physical ability, the only area where the infrastructure can be delivered with maximum effect is under the arch beside the boathouse.”

“That this Committee recommends the commencement of a planning scheme to allow for the repair of the Corballis (Old) Road, along the Malahide Broadmeadows Estuary, given that this very busy public road is at risk of collapse, and given the response to Question 5, April 2024. (Services A), Area Committee Meeting.”

“That the Chief Executive provides a safe pedestrian crossing from the Stephenstown School Campus at Clonard Boulevard Road, across the Castlemill Link Road, leading to the Millfield Shopping Centre?”

“That this Committee agrees to support the community in Holywell in relation to the space allocated for a community garden which will include a sensory section and will be an amenity for all ages and groups in the area, discussions have been ongoing, however recent site drawings have indicated a reduction in the space for the garden to a third of the original outline drawing and residents are not prepared to accept the garden being downsized.”

“That the Chief Executive advise on what plans are in place to preserve St. Cronan’s Abbey, an historical site and to provide a report on the structure and to conduct a clean-up of the area i.e. remove shrubbery, weeds and vegetation and if the Council can monitor the site on a regular basis.”

“That the Chief Executive write to Eir requesting the removal/repositioning of the Eir boxes on the Baldwinstown Crossroads that makes one of the corners a blind spot.”

“That the Chief Executive in the preparation of this year’s Work Programme ensure that management have regard to the need to address the dangerous junction serving Ballyboughal Village and the Blake’s Cross road and make financial provision to undertake the necessary works to improve safety at this junction.”

“That the Chief Executive consider placing re-turn bins in parks and areas with high footfall in this Local Electoral Area with any monies collected, after covering costs, donated to local community groups.”

“That the Chief Executive investigates enforcement options for Park Avenue Estate, Swords given the continued increase in illegal parking and vehicle access to and from this estate.”

“That the Chief Executive have the entrance way to Collie Maher Park on Station Road, Lusk, where the soccer pitches are located, evaluated for the installation of a signalised pedestrian crossing to be included in the forthcoming Programme of Works, users report poor lighting and large volumes of traffic on the main connecting road between Lusk and Rush and near misses with children entering the location and crossing the road.”

“That this Committee agrees that a review of the trees in Swords Manor Estates be undertaken with a view to removal, cutting back or replacing the trees in the estate which are over 30 years growing, there has been agreement previously that the trees planted are not suitable for an estate and while residents do not wish to see unnecessary removal, there are issues with footpaths, boundary walls and also footpaths encroaching on underground pipes and drains, promises of a survey have not resulted in any meaningful works being carried out.”
